Intimate Winter Wedding at Beneath the Oaks Midfield, Texas | Julie + Mike

Happy wedding day, Mike & Julie!! You’re MARRIED! Congratulations again you guys. We are so happy for you both. Here’s to a lifetime of happiness.

You guys, I’m not gonna sugarcoat it, I was so nervous when your wedding day came around. Not because of shooting the wedding and failing horribly ;P but seriously, I was terrified of the weather. I was stalking the weather app on my phone everyday leading up to Saturday on Mike and Julie’s wedding day. The weather was calling for 80% chance of rain, and not just rain – thunderstorms. All day long. I had everyone I know praying for the rain to hold off or go another route around us. The next day I checked the weather app the rain chance had dropped down to 50%, and I was getting hopeful. The morning of the wedding the clouds rolled in, but we were still in the clear for rain. The weather app said the rain would most likely come through our area around 3pm which unfortunately was right when the ceremony was about to start.

Just as we were about to go outside for the First Look and Julie was getting her make-up touched up and her sash put on the heavens opened up and the rains came flooding in. My heart was broken. I wanted so badly to take their portraits at a location I scouted out beforehand, but when the rains showed they weren’t letting up I had to go to Plan B. I’m thankful for the church breezeway that still had a ton of natural light pouring into it.

Even with the rain Julie and Mike still had a gorgeous wedding. I love the color of dusty blue she picked out for her invitations, bridesmaids dresses and invitation suite, and her Mom even bought her special jewelry that matched her colors perfectly. And after all, everyone says rain on your wedding day is good luck! 😉

Mike and Julie, I’m so honored to be able to capture your wedding day for you! Thank you for trusting me and my vision to bring your day to life in photos. xoxo
