An Intimate Garden Wedding at Ella’s Garden Tomball, Texas | Sunny + Michael

When Sunny and I met up for coffee a few weeks before the wedding to go over her timeline and talk about her big day it felt like we had been long time friends. I just love that about people that you instantly hit it off with. We jumped right into all the wedding details: the timeline, what her dress looked like, how she was wearing her hair and that Michael’s dad would be their officiant!

Sunny and Michael are some of the sweetest people I’ve gotten to know, and it was an absolute honor to be able to capture their wedding day along side some of their closest friends and family at Ella’s Garden in Tomball, Texas. Their intimate ceremony gave me goosebumps and almost brought me to tears. They each wrote their own vows, and I was so impressed that they both held it together so well. I would’ve been bawling my eyes out if that were me up there. Sunny even wrote the most precious letter to Michael’s son, Hayden.

I loved all the little details that Sunny had at their wedding (those are definitely my favorite things to photograph). From the cowboy hat that belonged to her late grandpa, and the marriage vase that an older couple had given them as a wedding present, to the spice blend thank you gifts for their guests and the precious gifts she gave to her future mother-in-law and stepson, Hayden. Heart eyes everywhere!!!

This was my first time shooting at Ella’s Garden, and this venue was the perfect size for their intimate wedding. The gazebo out back had the most beautiful backdrop full of the trees behind it and the sun was already starting to set and just peak through the trees. They had their reception inside the house and the dance floor was hopping all night long! I love it when DJs really feed off the crowd and know which songs to play to keep the guests entertained especially with songs like Whitney Houston’s I wanna dance with somebody, Bruno Mars’ 24K Magic, The Isley Brothers’ Shout, Footloose, and so many more!

And I was able to work alongside Rachael, the owner at Ella’s Garden who helped me and the bride stay right on schedule. Thank you, Rachael!! Your venue is gorgeous, and I can’t wait to come back again!
